Inner Peace and Joy: Tip #8 Do not be Sorry

Inner Peace and Joy Daily Meditation: The Book of Proverbs is loaded with wisdom nuggets. Read Proverbs 8, pull out the wisdom nuggets and apply them to your life

Inner Peace is a mental state of being. If you are remorseful for long periods of time you are in contradiction of having a peaceful state of being.

Do not be Sorry
The reason why you shouldn't be sorry is because being remorseful and feeling guilty for long periods of time is stressful on your mind and body. And if you are carrying this emotional burden of guilt then during that time you are not able to experience inner peace or joy.

What You Can Do Instead of Being Sorry:

1. Forgive others for what they have done to you as well as forgive yourself for what you may have done to others. When you forgive, you release all of the negative feelings that you have attached to others and you make room for the good that you desire.

2. Except that you can not change what happened in the past because what has happened in the past is done and over with. Today is a fresh start and you should concentrate on doing all that you can do today.

When you are feeling sorry you are holding yourself back from experiencing the joys of life because inner joy and peace does not abide in the same place with sorrow. The way that you are going to experience inner joy and peace is by learning how to respond in a joyful and peaceful manner to your circumstances instead of responding in a negative way.

Living your life with inner joy and peace is a decision that you have to make for yourself and it takes time, practice as well as trial and error in order to get it right.

Let me ask you a question, "Would you get into a car and take a trip somewhere you have never been before without carrying a map, a GPS system, or a guide to reach your location?" Well, if you do not have a detail plan of what it is that you want out of life then that is exactly what you are doing. You are living your life without direction. Not having a plan is the one of the main reason that people who want to be successful are not. They have no idea about what it is that they want to do with their life.

Get Focused

The way that you are going to stand out from the crowd is by deciding what it is that you want and then take the necessary steps to develop a plan. Your plan has to be written down, have an objective and set goals to achieve your objective. Next to each of your goals write down the date you expect to meet your goals.

Review your goals often to monitor your progress. You may need to make some adjustments. Keep your goals and the time you expect to achieve them realistic.

While you are working towards you goals, spend time daily using your imagination to visualize yourself having what it is that you want. Also daily speak words of thanks in the present tense that you are meeting your objectives.

Note: It is important that you have a hard copy of your plan of action for achieving your objectives and goals and not just have it in your head.

I bet you are wondering how they are able to go through life and have joy and peace while on the other hand when other people are confronted with the same situation they complain and are unraveled.

Did you know that having a peace of mind is something that you have to work at? The difference between people who are unmoved by life's challenges and those who are moved is that people who are unmoved know the Golden Rules for having a peace of mind.

THE GOLDEN RULE

Have a Positive Attitude
The first rule to having a peace of mind is you must have a positive attitude. Have you ever been around a negative person? Negative people are always stressed out because they are focused on the wrong in every situation. When you are focused on the wrong your emotions will reflect it. A negative person is usually angry and sad all of the time.

If you do not want to be angry and sad all of the time, you have to make a decision that you are going to be a positive person and see only the good in all people and in every situation. This takes practice but when you are focused on the good in all people and every situation, your emotional response will be calm and peaceful.
